I did Not want to go swimming!

I had loaded my car up Sunday evening, and got up Monday morning and was getting ready to go out of town to visit my sister and other family members, and went outside to this!
So as it was I still had a 6 hour drive ahead of me, but it was delayed by a few hours as I waited until the water receded enough to leave. The Cadillac you see there, was bobbing like a cork in the water when the truck came by. Interesting site, made me want to go fishing!

Hubby could not even go to work as his car is lower than my Xterra.

I had to mop the kitchen, as water came in the back door. I guess we are going to have to work on getting a drainage system out there. Hubby is very busy in the summer as he is an automotive a/c parts specialist. He sometimes does not get home until after 8 pm.

My daughter came home from her internship with Senator Hutchinson a couple of years ago in her Nissan to this, she thought she had taught her car to swim, but ended up drowning it! She had to crawl out of her sun roof, and wasn't thinking when she got out, she armed the alarm... She obviously got laughed at, standing there in her business suit, dripping wet..

Warren Family reunion

Annual Warren Family Reunion

I am a bit late in posting this...

We had ourWarren Family reunion Memorial weekend.
It was a lot of fun! Lots of food, and games, and just catching up on the family goings on.

Sure wish that everyone could have made it, Sisiter Wanda didn't make it becauseof car trouble, Son Ralph's wife and kids didn't make it, not sure why really.

Everyone likes going out and riding the mule, or the golf cart, or the 4 wheelers, through the property and especially through the tunnel of trees that dad has on his property.

This is Becky, my Step mom and she is the greatest!

This is my Dad Ralph

My Hubby Mark and myself, we will be together 25 years next anniversary, and we will be renwing our vows on our Anniversary Feb 14 2006!

Been Busy

I have been busy working on the house, and getting hubby's clothes washed and ready to be packed for his trip to Austin.

I will then go shopping for fabric for the Butterfly Block as soon as we know how many we are to make.
I caleed my cousin Pat and we talked on the phone for over 3 hours yesterday, but I really enjoyed it! I sure wish she lived here in Houston instead of way up in Hooks.

Time to make some changes

Now that I no longer have my mom to go visit, it is time I make some changes.
Today is Mom's birthday; I miss her a lot, but realize that I cannot become the way I was when the children passed on.

Now that my health is improving, I am going to start going to the gym more often, and try to lose all this weight that I gained when I had cancer.

I have joined a new group called FairyGoddessMothers that I really like.
I am participating in some of their activities, and hope to make some friends. I am really tired of having no friends, and am going to make an effort to become less reclusive and depressed.

So Mom, Happy Birthday, and my gift to you is opening myself up, to making new friends.

Since neil is a friend of my dad's we already had tickets, because Daddy always buys them in advance and we were only nine rows from the stage. Tracy Lawrence was there along with several other singers, it started at 7 pm and ended at 11:30.

Lots of fun and we spent he night at daddy's went to breakfast and then went back home to Houston.
